Uploading and replacing videos

What you can upload

Any common video format works: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV and more. Pellio converts every upload to adaptive streaming (HLS) at up to 1080p, depending on the source, so viewers get the best quality their connection allows.

Large files

Large files upload in parallel chunks. If your connection drops, or you close the tab, open the Library again and choose the same file: the upload continues from where it stopped instead of starting over.

Replacing a video

To fix a typo or swap in a new cut, open the video and click Replace video in the File card. The link, embeds, settings, captions and analytics all stay the same; viewers see the new version once it has processed.

Original downloads the file you uploaded.

Posters

Pellio picks a poster frame automatically. To change it, pause the preview on the frame you want and click Use frame at …, or upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP image. Reset goes back to the automatic poster.

Organising the library

• Folders: create one with the folder button next to Folders in the sidebar. Upload into an open folder to file videos as they arrive.
• Tags: add them on a video’s page, or to many videos at once.
• Bulk actions: tick videos in the Library to move them, change their privacy, tag them or move them to Trash.
• Trash: deleted videos stop playing immediately and are removed for good after 30 days. Restore them from Trash before then.
