Drop one file or twenty into the Pellio block. Large uploads resume if the tab closes, and videos appear in the post as soon as they’re ready.

Pick from your library

Search and insert any video you’ve already uploaded, from the block editor or the classic editor, or with the [pellio] shortcode.

No player until play

Pages load a poster and a tiny script, not a video player. The player loads when someone presses play, so your Core Web Vitals don’t pay for video.

Members-only means members-only

Private videos play only through embeds your site signs for each viewer. Copy the embed code elsewhere and it won’t play.

Know your viewers

Logged-in users show up by name in your per-viewer analytics, and you can opt in to pass their email to Pellio’s forms.

Search engines see your videos

Every embed ships VideoObject structured data, and links to your Pellio videos unfurl as proper embeds.

For course creators

Lessons that complete when students have actually watched.

Pellio works with LifterLMS out of the box. Put a Pellio video on any lesson, course or membership, then decide what “done” means.

  • Hide Mark Complete until a student has watched, say, 90% of the video.
  • Completion is checked against the seconds Pellio saw them watch, so skipping to the end doesn’t count.
  • Optionally stop students seeking past what they’ve watched, complete lessons automatically, and resume where they left off.
  • See each student’s video progress in LifterLMS reporting.

Migration

Leave Vimeo and Wistia without editing a single post.

Tools → Pellio scans your site for Vimeo, Wistia and YouTube embeds and shows which are already in your Pellio library. One click swaps them for the Pellio player, and every change can be undone.

  • Import your Vimeo or Wistia library into Pellio first; the plugin matches embeds to the imported videos.
  • Offload videos from your Media Library to Pellio and replace core Video blocks as you go.
  • Prefer the terminal? Everything is in WP-CLI.

Setup

Connected in three steps.

    Create a Pellio account

    Free during the beta. Upload a video or import your library.

  2. 2

    Install the plugin

    Add Pellio to your site, then click “Connect to Pellio” in Settings → Pellio.

    Approve the connection

    Pick the workspace. Your site’s domain is allowed automatically.

Do uploads use my server’s bandwidth or disk?+
No. The browser uploads straight to Pellio’s storage. Your server only asks Pellio for a one-time upload link.
Does it work with page builders and the classic editor?+
Yes: there’s a block, a classic-editor button and a [pellio] shortcode that works anywhere shortcodes do.
What happens if I disconnect the plugin?+
Public and unlisted videos keep playing. Private videos stop, because only your connected site can sign them.
Which WordPress versions are supported?+
WordPress 6.5 or later on PHP 8.1 or later.
