AI dubbing

Your videos,
in their language.

Dub a video into German, Spanish, Japanese and more, in the voices of the people speaking in it. Every page in that language plays the dub on its own, with captions to match.

Rolling out now: AI dubbing is being switched on for workspaces gradually. An add-on on paid plans, $1 per minute of video, per language.

How it sounds

The same people, speaking another language.

Their own voices

Each speaker is recreated in the new language, so your presenter still sounds like your presenter.

Made once, stored

A dub is made once and kept with the video. A thousand viewers cost nothing more than one.

Follows the page

A page in German plays the German dub; a page in English plays the original. No extra embed codes.

Captions too

Every dub adds captions in its language, and they’re searchable with the rest of your library.

On your site

Translated pages play translated videos.

Use the same embed on every version of a page. Pellio picks the dub that matches the page, so your German visitors hear German without you managing a video per language.

  • The embed reads the language your page declares, as sites with translated pages already do
  • With the WordPress plugin, it follows the page’s language, including WPML and Polylang
  • A page in a language without a dub plays the original
  • Viewers can switch language any time in the player’s Audio menu

Ordering

Order a dub in a minute, or let new videos dub themselves.

Dubs become audio tracks on the video itself, so they play on every embed, share link and WordPress page that already shows it.

  • Pick languages on a video’s Translate tab and see the price before you order
  • Or choose languages once and every new video is dubbed into them when it’s ready
  • An email when each dub is live, usually within minutes
  • You confirm you have the rights to the video and permission to recreate the voices in it

Pricing

$1 per minute of video, per language. Once.

A 4-minute video in three languages costs $12, one time, however many people watch it. AI dubbing is an add-on on paid plans, off until an owner or admin switches it on.

Half Wistia’s rate

Wistia charges $2.00 a minute for AI dubbing; Pellio charges $1.

A monthly limit

Set the most dubbing can cost in a month. Orders that would go over it aren’t made, and you’re emailed about automatic ones.

Refunded if it fails

If a dub can’t be made, what it cost goes back to your card automatically.

Who it’s for

One video, every market you sell to.

Product marketing

Demos and product tours for every country you sell in, from the video you already made.

Training and courses

Onboarding and lessons your whole team or audience can follow in their first language.

Help and support

How-to videos that answer questions in the customer’s language, not just with subtitles.

Translated websites

If your site already has pages per language, its videos can finally match them.

Questions, answered

Is the video dubbed every time someone watches?+
No. Each language is made once and stored with the video as its own audio track. Playing it costs nothing extra.
What does “per minute” mean?+
The length of the video, rounded up to the minute, for each language: a 90-second video into German is 2 minutes, $2, once.
What happens if I replace the video file?+
The dub belongs to the version it was made from, so a new file needs a new dub. Languages you chose for automatic dubbing are dubbed again when the new version is ready.
Does it match lip movements?+
No. The dub replaces the speech with the same voices in another language; lip movements stay as they were filmed.
Can I edit the translation?+
Not yet. Each dub adds captions in its language, and you can upload your own captions for any language.
Which pages play which language?+
Pages tell browsers their language; the Pellio embed passes it to the player, which plays the matching dub or the original. You can also set a language on an embed yourself.
Whose voices can I dub?+
Videos you have the rights to, with permission from the people speaking in them. You confirm this when you order.
Which plans is it on?+
All paid plans, as an add-on you switch on in Settings → Billing. See pricing for the plans.
