LearnDash, Tutor LMS and Sensei LMS

The Pellio plugin adds watch-to-complete to LearnDash (lessons and topics), Tutor LMS and Sensei LMS lessons. Put a Pellio video in the lesson’s content with the Pellio video block or the [pellio] shortcode: the first Pellio video in a lesson is its lesson video.

Set the rules

For every lesson at once, go to Pellio → Settings → Courses. For one lesson, use the Pellio video box on its edit screen and tick Use settings for this lesson. (Tutor LMS edits lessons in its own course builder, where the site-wide settings apply.)

• Require watching before a lesson can be completed, with a threshold (90% by default). The LMS’s own complete button is replaced by “Watch the video to complete this lesson” until then, and completions that weren’t verified are refused.
• Complete lessons automatically when watched.
• Prevent skipping ahead until watched.

Lesson videos always resume where the student left off.

Attestation

Ask learners to confirm they watched it (site-wide in Pellio → Settings → Courses, or per lesson) adds a statement learners confirm after the video, before the lesson completes: with a tick box, their typed name, or their name and password. Each attestation is recorded in Pellio’s tamper-evident learner log.

How watching is verified

When the player reports the threshold, your site asks Pellio how many unique seconds that student has watched across all their sessions. Skipping ahead, leaving the tab open on a paused video or watching the same minute twice doesn’t add up. Only then is the lesson marked complete (or its button shown), using the LMS’s normal completion, so certificates, emails and course progress follow as usual.

When a video is replaced

If the video’s Completion must be on the latest version setting is on in Pellio (its Privacy card), learners who completed the lesson on an older version find it reopened, with a note asking them to watch the new version (and sign again, if the lesson has an attestation).

Watch evidence

Download a CSV per course from the course’s edit screen (Pellio watch evidence), from Pellio → Settings → Courses, or with wp pellio evidence COURSE_ID: one row per learner and lesson, with unique seconds and percent watched, sessions, first and last viewed, the video version watched, when Pellio verified the watch, completion and attestation.

Reporting

Open the video in Pellio and use the Viewers tab: each student appears as a WordPress user with a heatmap of what they watched, and Export CSV downloads the list.
