What you can do

• Play Pellio-hosted videos without consent: the Pellio player sets no cookies.
• Count views anonymously, with no viewer id stored on the device, until a visitor gives statistics consent.
• Hold back YouTube and Vimeo videos until the visitor gives marketing consent in your Complianz banner.

Set it up

1. Install the Pellio plugin with Complianz active.
2. That’s it: the plugin detects Complianz and reads consent from it. There’s nothing to configure in Pellio.
3. To check, open a page with a YouTube or Vimeo video in a private window and press play before accepting the banner.

What visitors see

Without marketing consent, pressing play on a YouTube or Vimeo video shows a note that the video is hosted there. Pressing Play video in the note loads that one video. If the visitor gives consent in your banner, the note goes away.

Good to know

• The plugin declares its browser storage to the WP Consent API: pellio_vid (an anonymous viewer id, only with statistics consent), pellio_pos_* (where a viewer got to, for resuming) and pellio_lead_* (that a viewer already filled in a video’s form).
• Until play, YouTube and Vimeo thumbnails are served from your own site, so nothing loads from those services.
• Developers can tell Pellio a consent manager is active with the pellio_consent_manager_active filter.
