Cookie consent plugins

The plugin reads consent from the WP Consent API, Complianz, CookieYes, Real Cookie Banner and Borlabs Cookie.

Pellio-hosted videos

These play without consent: the Pellio player sets no cookies. Until a visitor gives statistics consent, their views are counted anonymously and no viewer id is kept on their device.

YouTube and Vimeo videos

These load from YouTube or Vimeo, so they need marketing consent. Without it, pressing play first shows a note that the video is hosted on YouTube or Vimeo; pressing Play video in the note loads that one video. If the visitor gives consent in your banner, the note goes away.

What the player stores

The plugin declares its browser storage to the WP Consent API: pellio_vid (an anonymous viewer id, only with statistics consent), pellio_pos_* (where a viewer got to, for resuming) and pellio_lead_* (that a viewer already filled in a video’s form). Developers can tell Pellio a consent manager is active with the pellio_consent_manager_active filter.
