Pellio

Members-only videos

On this page

Any video in the Pellio player can be limited to members of the plans you choose. It works with MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content and Restrict Content Pro, WooCommerce Memberships and LifterLMS memberships, whichever are active on your site.

In the block editor

  1. Select the Pellio Video block.
  2. In the sidebar’s Access panel, set Who can watch to Members of certain plans.
  3. Tick the plans. A member of any of them can watch. With no plan ticked, any logged-in user can watch.

The plan lists show up to 100 plans each for MemberPress and LifterLMS.

With the shortcode

[pellio id="VIDEO_ID" visibility="members" members="pmpro:2,memberpress:12"]

Plans are written as plugin:plan id: memberpress, pmpro, rcp, wcm (WooCommerce Memberships) or llms (LifterLMS).

The Elementor widget, the Bricks element and pellio_video() offer Anyone who can see this page and Logged-in users only, but not plans. For plans there, use the shortcode.

What non-members see

A “This video is for members” panel, with a log-in link for visitors. No playback token is issued to them at all, including when a cached page refreshes its tokens, so the video can’t be played by copying the page source. Users who can edit other people’s posts (editors and administrators) can always watch.

For developers

  • pellio_member_can_watch filters the decision: ( bool $allowed, array $rules, int $user_id ).
  • pellio_members_locked_html filters what non-members see.

The same Access panel can instead limit a video to any logged-in user.
