Paid Memberships Pro

What you can do

• Limit a video to members of one or more Paid Memberships Pro levels.
• Show non-members a “This video is for members” panel, with a log-in link.
• Gate YouTube, Vimeo and Media Library videos played in the Pellio player too, not only Pellio-hosted ones.

Set it up

1. Install the Pellio plugin with Paid Memberships Pro active, and connect it in Pellio → Settings.
2. In the block editor, select the Pellio Video block.
3. In the sidebar’s Access panel, set Who can watch to Members of certain plans.
4. Tick the levels. A member of any of them can watch.
5. Update the post.

With the shortcode, write levels as pmpro:ID, for example [pellio id="VIDEO_ID" visibility="members" members="pmpro:2"]. You can mix plugins: members="pmpro:2,memberpress:12".

Good to know

• Non-members get no playback token at all, including when a cached page refreshes its tokens, so the video can’t be played by copying the page source.
• Editors and administrators can always watch.
• With no level ticked, any logged-in user can watch.
• The Elementor widget and Bricks element don’t offer plans. Use the shortcode there.
• Developers can change the decision with pellio_member_can_watch and what non-members see with pellio_members_locked_html.
