Open a video’s Interactions tab and click Add interaction. A video can have up to 30. They appear in time order and never overlap.

The Interactions tab with an email capture form

Types

  • Email capture: a form shown before the video starts, at a time, or when it ends. Make it Required so viewers can’t skip it, tick Ask for a name, and use Add field for up to five Extra fields (company, role…).
  • Call to action: pauses the video with a heading, text and a button. Viewers can continue watching.
  • Annotation card: a small link in the corner for a few seconds (Visible for 5–60 seconds, 8 by default), without pausing.
  • End screen: a heading, an optional button and Watch again when the video finishes.

Settings

  • Show: Before the video starts, At a time or When the video ends. For a time, type it in At (m:ss) or click Use preview time.
  • Heading (up to 120 characters), Text (up to 500) and Button label (up to 40).
  • Button link: an http, https or mailto link, required for calls to action and cards. Tick Open in a new tab to keep the video open.

New calls to action and cards start at the preview player’s current time, so pause the preview where you want one first. Email capture starts before the video, and end screens at the end. When you have unsaved changes, click Save interactions (or Discard).

Who sees a form

Viewers who have already filled in a form for a video aren’t asked again on that device. Viewers who are already identified skip forms too: through the player API’s identify, or on WordPress sites with Viewer analytics turned on in Pellio → Settings (“Identify signed-in users by their email address in Pellio analytics and skip email-capture forms for them”).

Results

Each interaction shows its views and conversion rate. Form submissions appear in Leads, and interactions shown at a set time are marked on the retention chart so you can see their effect on viewing.
