REST API
Build on Pellio with a documented REST API.
What you can do
- Upload videos straight to storage, with resumable uploads in 16 MB parts for large files.
- Import a video from a link to a file.
- Read and manage your library and webhooks from your own code.
- Give each key only the access it needs: Read only, Read & write videos or Admin.
Set it up
- In Pellio, go to Settings → Developers. You need to be an owner or admin.
- Create a key: give it a name and choose its Access.
- Copy the key. It’s shown once, so store it somewhere safe.
- Send it as a bearer token:
curl https://api.pellio.io/v1/videos -H "Authorization: Bearer pk_…" - To upload, call
POST /v1/videos/uploads,PUTthe file to the returned URL, then callPOST /v1/videos/{id}/complete. Avideo.readywebhook tells you when it’s processed.
Good to know
- Every endpoint is in the API reference, and the OpenAPI document is at
https://api.pellio.io/v1/openapi.json. - Files must be video or audio, up to 20 GB. Upload URLs are valid for 6 hours.
- Each key can make 600 requests a minute and 30 imports a minute. A 429 response means slow down and retry.
- The key list shows when each key was last used. Revoke stops a key at once.
- Needs the Standard plan or above.
