Webhooks

What you can do

• Receive video.created, video.ready, video.failed, video.deleted, video.watched and lead.captured events.
• Get a video.watched event when an identified viewer starts a video, passes 25%, 50% or 75%, or finishes it, once per viewer, video and milestone.
• Send every event, including ones added later, or only the ones you pick.
• Verify each request with an HMAC-SHA256 signature.

Set it up

1. In Pellio, go to Settings → Developers → Webhooks. You need to be an owner or admin.
2. Add your endpoint. It must be a public HTTPS address.
3. Leave All events on, or turn it off and pick events.
4. Copy the signing secret. It’s shown once.
5. Click Send test to send a webhook.test event, and check Deliveries for the response.
6. In your app, check the Pellio-Signature header (t=…,v1=…) against the raw body.

Good to know

• Every body is { "id", "event", "createdAt", "data" }.
• Pellio waits up to 10 seconds. Any 2xx counts as delivered, and redirects count as failures.
• Failed deliveries are tried 6 times in total: the first retry comes after 20 seconds, and the wait doubles up to 320 seconds.
• Deliveries shows the last 50 attempts. Rotate secret replaces the secret at once.
• You can also manage webhooks through the API.
• Needs the Standard plan or above.
