What you can do

• Add YouTube videos to your Pellio library as linked videos.
• Play them on their Pellio share page and in Pellio embeds, in YouTube’s player.
• See who watched and how much, with the Analytics and Viewers tabs.
• Turn timestamps in descriptions into chapters.
• On WordPress, play YouTube embeds in the Pellio player, with nothing loaded from YouTube until the visitor presses play.

Set it up

1. In Pellio, click Import in the Library and open the YouTube tab.
2. Paste links to your videos, one per line (youtube.com/watch?v=… or youtu.be/…).
3. Click Find videos, choose the ones you want and click Import.

On WordPress, turn on Use the Pellio player for YouTube and Vimeo embeds in Pellio → Settings → Player → Embeds. With your account connected, each YouTube video shown in the Pellio player is added to your library as a linked video the first time a page with it is shown.

Good to know

• YouTube doesn’t allow downloading video files, so these videos stay on YouTube. They use none of your storage.
• To use Pellio’s own player, captions, interactions and verified completion, upload the original file instead.
• The plugin’s embed migration doesn’t replace YouTube embeds, because they can’t be imported as files.
• With a cookie consent plugin, YouTube videos wait for marketing consent.
