Move your files into Pellio Drive

For a handful of files, drop them in the browser or copy them onto the mounted drive. To move a whole library from LucidLink, Dropbox, a NAS or any other folder, use the importer: it copies a folder on your computer into a filespace, and can be run again until you switch over.

Before you start

  • You need the pellio-drive command-line tool on a computer that can see the files, for example the Mac where LucidLink is mounted. While Drive is in beta we send it to you: ask us.
  • Sign it in once with pellio-drive login and approve the code in your browser with Connect. Add --name "Edit Bay" to choose how the computer is named.
  • pellio-drive remote ls lists your workspace’s filespaces.
  • Make sure your Drive storage has room for everything you’re copying, including any growth while you work in both places.

Copy a folder in

Run pellio-drive remote upload <folder> <filespace>[:dest/path]. For example, pellio-drive remote upload ~/LucidLink/Projects Studio:Archive/2026 copies everything inside Projects into the Archive/2026 folder of the Studio filespace. Leave out :dest/path to copy into the top of the filespace.

The importer makes the folders first, then uploads files 4 at a time (--files changes that). Files are encrypted on your computer and go straight to storage. System files such as .DS_Store, Thumbs.db and ._ files are left behind.

Run it again

Running the same command again skips every file that’s already in Drive with the same size and modified time, so it resumes an interrupted copy, or sends only what changed since last time. A file that changed locally becomes a new version in Drive. This lets your team keep working in the old place and do a last quick run on the day you switch.

Check the result

The last line sums up the run: UPLOAD_DONE uploaded=… skipped=… folders=… bytes=…. A file someone has open in Drive, or one going into a folder you can only view, is listed as failed and the rest still goes; fix it and run the command again.

Each file’s version shows the computer it came from, and the import is recorded in your workspace’s audit log like any other upload.
