Quick start

This guide takes you from a new account to a video playing on your site in a few minutes.

1. Create your account

Go to pellio.io/app/sign-up. Pellio creates a workspace for you straight away. A workspace holds your videos, your team and your settings. You can create more from the workspace switcher at the top left.

2. Upload a video

In Library, click Upload video or drop files anywhere on the page. Files go straight from your browser to Pellio’s storage and start processing as soon as they arrive. Short videos are usually ready within a minute or two; the card shows Ready when it’s done.

Already have videos on Vimeo, Wistia or elsewhere? Use Import instead (see Importing videos). Or click Record to record your screen and camera (see Recording).

3. Allow your website

New videos have Only play on my allowed domains turned on, so they don’t play when someone copies the embed code to another site. Before you embed a video, add your site in Settings → General → Allowed embed domains (for example example.com, or *.example.com for subdomains). Or turn the switch off in the video’s Privacy card to let it play anywhere.

WordPress sites connected with the Pellio plugin don’t need this: they sign their embeds.

4. Share or embed it

Open the video and go to the Embed & share tab:

• Copy embed code gives you code for any website builder or CMS: a responsive or fixed-size player, a web component, or a popover. See Embedding and player options.
• Copy share link gives you a page with just your video, for email, chat or social posts. For a private video the button says Copy team link: that page only plays for your signed-in team. To share a private video outside your team, use a share link.

On WordPress, install the Pellio plugin and use the Pellio Video block instead. See WordPress plugin.
