Once a file’s publish kit is ready, Pellio can put it on YouTube for you, with everything you prepared, and show its YouTube stats next to the file.

Connect a channel

  1. Go to Review → YouTube and click Connect a YouTube channel.
  2. Google asks you to pick the account and channel and to allow Pellio to upload videos, set thumbnails, captions and playlists, and read the videos’ stats. Leave every box ticked.
  3. You’re back in Pellio with the channel listed. Connect as many channels as your team publishes to.

Review editors and admins connect and disconnect channels. Pellio never deletes anything on your channel.

Review → YouTube: two connected channels, each with Disconnect

Upload a file

  1. Open the file’s Publish tab and choose YouTube (or YouTube Shorts).
  2. Under YouTube, choose the channel and click Upload to YouTube. Pellio tells you which fields aren’t approved yet, but doesn’t stop you.
  3. The upload runs in the background, so you can close the page. When it’s done you get links to the video and to YouTube Studio.

What Pellio sends

  • The latest version of the file (the original, in full quality).
  • Title, description (with the chapters), tags, category, language and made for kids, from the destination’s fields.
  • Its visibility. If it’s scheduled, the video stays private until the time you chose and YouTube publishes it then; the date shows on the content calendar.
  • The thumbnail you chose, the file’s captions, and the playlist named in the details (it has to exist on the channel already).

If something doesn’t go through

Pellio shows anything YouTube refused, and uploads the video anyway. Custom thumbnails need a verified channel (youtube.com/verify), and thumbnails can be up to 2 MB. A playlist Pellio can’t find has to be created on YouTube first. Until Google finishes reviewing Pellio’s access, YouTube keeps videos uploaded through Pellio private: make them public in YouTube Studio.

See how it does

Under the upload, Pellio shows the video’s views, likes, comments, hours watched and average percentage viewed. They update every day; click the refresh button for the latest.

To stop Pellio using a channel, click Disconnect in Review → YouTube. Uploads already made stay on YouTube and in the file’s history. You can also remove Pellio at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
